We believe learning is a psychophysical synergetic process where the whole body should participate in an active way, choosing the proper position for the proper energy flow.
In order to innovate our learning methodology, we need to innovate our body position in the classroom.
Examples dating from ancient times show that learning is directly influenced by our physical position (activation of chakras) and spatial configuration, which is created by the arrangement in relation to the students and teacher.
When Escola São Paulo presented us with their new classroom model, an auditorium with elevated platforms and a free-flow ground area, where a lecturer could choose a preferred location, our response was to accommodate free body position and adaptable spatial organization.
Made out of laminated plywood with a bamboo finish, we created seats and tables that were later customized by fashion design students with inventive pillow solutions.
