FLOW, NAVIGATE, DISTRIBUTE, INTERCONNECT. CAPILLARY AND LIQUID, WITHOUT BORDERS.

Contemplating our rivers, we celebrate the exuberance of the forest and the richness of the peoples inhabiting it. A traveling exhibition along the waterways of the Amazon, accessible from anywhere in the world, pays tribute to the 50-year career of the photographer Araquém Alcântara. It traversed rivers and streams, was witnessed by riverside communities and forest beings.

Navigation in the Amazon is also a poetic experience, where art, ecology, and society converge into a unique narrative. The floating structure, named FLOTE, is an innovation conceived by Atelier Marko Brajovic, and produced by Hybrida Production to celebrate Araquém Alcântara's legacy. The composition of FLOTE is remarkable in itself, being a sophisticated amphibious vessel constructed from high-density polyethylene—a durable and recyclable material. Its metalon structure supports 12 square meters of LED screen, providing a unique visual experience.

Additionally, FLOTE incorporates advanced navigation, positioning, and security tools developed by @fehra , including GPS, compass, and a 360º camera system that captures surrounding information and sends it to the official expedition website https://www.araquem50expo.com/ The inaugural journey, starting in Belém do Pará, covering over 2,000 kilometers, and concluding with festivities in São Luís do Maranhão, represents the fusion of art, technology, and appreciation for nature, encapsulating the essence of the floating exhibition.

Ministry of Culture and Alcoa present: ARAQUÉM ALCÂNTARA 50 YEARS EXPEDITION – a journey through the rivers of the Amazon in celebration of the photographer's 50-year career. Counting on the institutional support of the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (Cebds) and the cultural support of Estação das Docas in Pará. The design is by Atelier Marko Brajovic, production by Hybrida Production, and realization by Vento Leste Editora.
