On the occasion of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games, we were invited by Coca-Cola to design an immersive brand experience in the Armazem 3 warehouse at Pier Mauá in Rio de Janeiro. The aim of this project is to immerse the public in a sensory space and the thematic imaginary of the Coca Cola brand, while dialoguing with the warehouse's suggestive nineteenth century industrial architecture.
We used more that 500 transparent acrylic spheres of different sizes suspended from the warehouse’s ceiling structure lit up, covering almost 1000m2 and lighted it up to create a motion effect of ascending effervescence. The final shape of the bubble cloud was designed using parameters derived from data of natural physics. Under the main bubble installation, different interactive activations and exhibitions entertain the public and narrate the visual history of the company.
The outside of the building will be integrated in the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games cityscape through an outdoor exhibition and public interactive furniture.
