Atelier Marko Brajovic, invited by Natura, designed and built the official Portal Natura and Pop-Up store, at Rock in Rio 2022. The architectural project, elaborated during 10 months, materializes within the City of Rock the desire of connection of the people with the Amazon forest, with an experience of rapture of the senses in a surprising, modern and sensorial way.
The portal is a passage between space/time dimensions. A place of interconnection between different worlds. A window into the future of "the world of worlds", so huge as our planet, as life. The Natura Portal is an opportunity for personal and collective metamorphoses, for union and consciousness. A trans-sensorial experience that transforms and enlightens the way for a future of coexistence and coevolution. A living portal, that will be opened with the forest, and finally, will never be closed.
A number of features have been developed for multi-sensorial audiences to be an integral experience. Its architecture stands out for the triangular shape of a large futuristic maloca (type of indigenous house), a spaceship. The experience begins by climbing the ladder that overflows leaves from the Amazon forest and the “Mata Atlantica” forest, a smoke of particles of water emerges with the exclusive fragrance developed by Natura, the Portal perspires and inspires.
Inside the portal, there is a large hammock which gives to the floor, and invites the public to walk over the forest, lie down, and watch the video on the huge LED screen, where the film takes place and the entire space spread across the floor multiplied forming a large kaleidoscope.
In this landscape, the public feels like floating on top of a forest, which, in addition to its bioclimatic cooling function, simulates the water cycle inside the pavilion.
Images, perfume, sounds, and all subtle dimensions of perception involve the audience in a synesthetic architectural instrument that generates narratives and heightened sensations of symbiosis, creating an empathic link between the audience and the enveloping content of Living the Amazon. In this state of mind, the transformative immersion is precisely the place where the “download” of information takes place, where the connection with values, purposes, and actions is born. We are all forest.
An architecture that dematerializes in a manifestation of effects that overflows the physical and predictable limits of form and recreate as conditions of the forest of consciousness and subconscious. Geometric shapes deform, and seedling gardens overflow and expand through contents and reflections of water in a gaseous state. Architecture becomes an animated synesthetic instrument.
The multisensory immersive content project was co-created in partnership with several Amazonian artists, with the creative direction of Atelier Marko Brajovic, Priscila Tapajowara (@priscilatapajowara) signing the script, voice, and direction of photography; Lucas Mariano (@sushidesereia) creative direction, animation and lighting editing; illustration and musical creation is by Moara Tupinabá (@moaratupinamba) and musical production by Léo Chermont (@leochermont) with the participation of Liésica (@liegemupinamba). In the video the characters are Azul Literal (@azuliteral), Luiara Borari, Jucy Bentes, Sandrielem Vieira, Raimunda Jaty, Ananda Jaty, Nato Tupinambá. The exclusive, inspired by the Amazon, was created for the experience of Veronica Kato, perfumer at Natura, in partnership with Yves Cassar, from IFF.
